Halifax Community College named CompTIA Academic Partner
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) has been selected to become a CompTIA Academic Partner. This academic partnership allows the College to provide anyone wanting to obtain an A+, Network+ or Security+ certification with a voucher from the bookstore at reduced rates, some of which save the student 50 percent.

Students can charge these vouchers to financial aid as they are considered a supply and available through the bookstore.

Coursework in the Computer Information Technology program helps prepare students for the certification exams. Students are encouraged to take the certification exam along with the course.

Emmanuel Obi, HCC program head of Computer Information Systems stated, "Being a CompTIA Academic Partner is extremely beneficial because it allows us to provide the opportunity for our students to obtain these highly-regarded, industry-standard certifications at highly reduced rates. This puts money back into our students' pockets in two ways - they don't have to spend as much to become certified and it provides them the possibility of obtaining a higher-paying position. It's a win-win situation! Anything we can do to help our students during these hard economic times, we will certainly try to do."
