HCC students and donors honored at annual luncheon
HCC Foundation Inc. announces more than 100 scholarships awarded

WELDON, N.C. – For the fall 2011 semester, the Halifax Community College (HCC) Foundation Inc. awarded 112 scholarships to 50 HCC students, totaling more than $75,000. For a full listing of fall 2011 scholarship recipients, visit http://www.halifaxcc.edu/halifacts/PressRel/2011/10262011.htm.

Generous individuals, businesses, civic and professional groups make scholarship awards possible. The scholarships vary in amount and selection criteria. Donors and scholarship recipients were honored during the Donor Recognition Luncheon and Scholarship Awards Ceremony on Oct. 28 in The Centre.

“We are grateful to all of you – donors, students and board members – and we do not take you for granted,” said Dr. Linnie S. Carter, APR, vice president of institutional advancement for Halifax Community College and executive director of the HCC Foundation Inc., during the event.

The HCC Foundation Inc. was established in 1976. The Foundation provides new sources of funding for the College to implement its programs and services and assists students with funding their college education. The Foundation was created as the main vehicle for raising tax-deductible funds from the private sector.
