HCC Fund Drive kicks off with themed games

 
WELDON, N.C. – The Halifax Community College (HCC) Foundation Inc. annual fund drive kick-off raised $370 in pledges on Oct. 10 at an event held at The Centre. Organizers developed a series of games based on the TV show "Minute to Win It" and based on this year’s fund drive theme, "Get in Gear: Help Students Steer to the Finish Line." Event attendees were encouraged to pledge money based on who they believe would win the games.

The games included:
  • "Keyed Up," which earned $20 in pledges
  • "Motor Oil Mania," which earned $134.50 in pledges
  • "Scoot Race," which garnered $56 in pledges
  • "Tire Roll," which garnered $66.50 in pledges
  • "Trike-a-thon 1," which earned $55 in pledges
  • "Trike-a-thon 2," which garnered $38 in pledges


Winners of the games included the following HCC employees:
  • Katelyn Wiltsie in "Keyed Up"
  • Willie Mae Alston in "Motor Oil Mania"
  • Shauna Jones in "Scoot Race"
  • Jerry Thompson in "Tire Roll"
  • Dan Lovett in "Trike-a-thon 1"
  • Shaun Stokes in "Trike-a-thon 2"
