Presidential Student Forums held at HCC

WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College hosted two Presidential Student Forums for the fall semester on Aug. 23 in Building 400. Pizza was served and all students were encouraged to attend. During the sessions, students had the opportunity to share ideas and to ask questions of administrators, faculty and staff.

Some issues involved the smoking ban on campus, changes in the Student Success Center, wireless access, working in the Electronic Resources Center, course availability, Pell grant funds, financial aid assistance, quality of instruction, using the Internet and the cost of books. Other students had questions about academic clubs, student activities, adding programs, parking fees, and handicap parking and accessibility.

Pictured above, HCC President Dr. Ervin V. Griffin, Sr., center, responded to student questions and concerns during the Presidential Student Forum held Aug. 23 on campus.
