Program participants included HCC President Dr. Ervin V. Griffin Sr., Chair of the HCC Board of Trustees Frank V. Avent III, Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Erica Holmes, Dean of Curriculum Programs Dr. Harriet Morrison, Dean of Student Services & Enrollment Management Barbara Bradley-Hasty, Director of Admissions Bernard Washington, member and HCC Basic Skills Instructor Stephanie Davis and Director of Literacy Education Tamba Thompson.

Lincoln Heights Community Development Coalition, Inc. Executive Director Florine Bell said the visit was “monumental and historic as it was the first time a college president and staff has ever visited Lincoln Heights to offer services and assistance.”

“Halifax Community College's quest to make services more available through community outreach is delivering great dividends to off campus communities like Lincoln Heights throughout Halifax County. We applaud Dr. Griffin and Halifax Community College not only for personally delivering these vital services to our community, but also for the genuine spirit of friendship and fellowship which accompanied them,” she added. “The doors of the Lincoln Heights community will continue to remain open to the college as it extends its hands to help improve the quality of life so desperately needed during these difficult times of economic distress.”

HCC representatives were on hand to discuss financial aid, scholarship information, admission requirements, Student Support Services, careers, and Continuing Education courses.
