Third smoking cessation workshop offered at HCC

Halifax Community College (HCC) hosted its third smoking cessation workshop for faculty, staff and students, April 14. The presenter was Anne Williams, prevention specialist with Five County Mental Health Authority. Williams talked about the Freedom from Smoking Program offered by the American Lung Association. The session was offered as part of a series of workshops to help faculty, staff and students with the 100 percent tobacco free policy adopted by the college on June 29, 2010. The board adopted the policy to support efforts to reduce tobacco use, to provide a safe campus for students, visitors and staff, and to promote a cleaner campus.
