HCC hosts Outreach Night in Seaboard

Halifax Community College hosted a Community Outreach Night at the Seaboard Town Hall on March 15. More than 30 citizens attended the event.

According to HCC Dean of Student Services & Enrollment Management Barbara Bradley-Hasty, the event gave college officials the opportunity to highlight programs, services and talk about the enrollment process. Plus, there was an extensive question and answer session.

“We want the community to know that we appreciate them,” explained Bradley-Hasty. These events provide the college staff a chance to give information as well as listen to what current needs are. “We are letting people know that we want to work with them and that we’ll come to them,” she added.

“Surveys indicate that everyone is very pleased with these events,” said Bradley-Hasty. “People can see that we’re serious about getting them to and through HCC.” She said that many people who are employed are interested in learning about how to get an education while they are still working. Gaining access, adding skills and getting new ones are concerns for people.

The next event is planned for 6-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 29 at HCC’s Enfield off-campus center. Refreshments will be served. For more information about the outreach events, call (252) 536-7220.
