Continuing Ed classes slated for the spring

Halifax Community Collegeís Continuing Education Department will offer commercial driverís license (CDL), electrical contractor and auto dealer classes this spring.
The CDL class will run from 6:30-9:30 p.m., Feb. 15, 17, 22 and 24. This course prepares students to take the CDL exam. All students need to attend the first two general sessions. Additional segments can be taken as needed, all included in the one fee. Additional topics are: air brakes, passengers, hazardous materials and combination vehicles, in this order.

 

The electrical contractor class will be offered from 6-10 p.m., March 7-8. This eight-hour course reviews the state electrical requirements and basic electrical skills. It offers current pertinent information to previously licensed contractors to upgrade their knowledge and skills. Each licensee must complete eight hours of continuing education per year.

 

The auto dealer class will run from 6:30-9:30 p.m., Apr. 19-21. The course will provide the mandated six hours of continuing education credit that independent dealerships are required to complete. Topics covered are updates on licensing, title issues, registration, and other relevant issues.

 

The registration fee for each class is $65. Pre-registration is required. Students may register by coming to the Continuing Education Building (400) or calling (252) 536-7212, (252) 536-7261 or (252) 536-7216. Classes will be held in the 400 Building.
