HCC receives $100,000 grant from The Cannon Foundation
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) recently received a $100,000 grant from THE CANNON FOUNDATION, INC. The letter of June 9, 2015 from Mr. Frank Davis, Executive Director of The Cannon Foundation, Inc., indicated that its Board of Directors approved the proposal submitted from HCC for the purpose of Energy Management Upgrade.

The $100,000 will be matched by $100,000 each from Halifax Community College and the U.S. Department of Education PBI Grant. These funds will be used to upgrade the current HVAC control systems. The total HVAC controls upgrade is estimated to cost $466,000.

The Cannon Foundation is an independent foundation established in 1943 by Charles A. Cannon, President and Chairman of Cannon Mills Company for more than 50 years. Focused predominantly on North Carolina, this endowed Foundation accepts unsolicited requests for grants, primarily for capital projects and equipment.
