HCC to offer Nurse Aide II Course
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) will offer a Nurse Aide II certification course from April 21-June 25 on Mondays through Fridays from 5-9 p.m. on the Weldon campus.

The Nurse Aide II training program is 166 hours of classroom, laboratory and clinical components. Upon starting clinical, students must have a current flu shot, current immunization records which include two series of measles, mumps and rubella vaccines or positive titers, Hepatitis B–suggested for direct patient care, but not required, record of two chickenpox vaccines or positive titers, results of two tuberculosis tests within the past 12 months with one being in the last 90 days, past documentation of positive tuberculosis results and treatment, drug screening and criminal background check completed.

Upon successful completion of all components, the students will be eligible to apply for listing on the North Carolina Board of Nursing Nurse Aide II Registry. If a criminal background check shows any charges/violations, you may not be able to attend the clinical session of class. It is the student’s responsibility to know your background. There will be no refunds after the 10 percent census date of the class. If drug screen shows positive, you will not be able to attend the clinical session of class.

The cost of the course is $264.50. Register in the HCC Workforce & Economic Development Division Office (Building 400), Monday–Thursday from 8 a.m.–9 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Students must have a current photo ID, Social Security card and proof of high school completion or GED to register.
