HCC's BLET Academy graduates 46th class
 
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) cadets graduated in a ceremony on campus, Dec. 17. This marked HCC's 46th BLET Academy graduation. Northampton County Sheriff’s Office provided the Honor Guard. Northampton County Sheriff Jack Smith was the guest speaker.

Graduates included:
  • Stephan Bryant
  • Mark Butler
  • Steven Casey
  • Ashley Leitner
  • William Martin
  • Christopher Parker
  • David Shephard
  • Timothy Strickland
  • Christopher Williams
Awards and recognition were also presented.

Leitner earned the Academic Excellence award. Top Gun honors went to Williams. Shephard garnered the Physical Fitness award. The Top Driver award went to Casey. Shephard was recognized as class president. Parker was recognized for his dedication and extra effort to complete the program.

Special recognition was given to HCC Law Enforcement Coordinator/Instructor Greg Parker as well as Austin Simmons, graduate of HCC’s 45th BLET Academy.
