HCC Certified Nurse Aide graduates pinned on July 23 in Scotland Neck
 
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) honored nine Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) graduates during a pinning ceremony, July 23 at the Scotland Neck Town Hall Auditorium. This project was a joint effort between HCC, Regeneration Development Group, Our Community Hospital and the Town of Scotland Neck. Funding for tuition and supplies was granted by the NC Department of Commerce-Rural Economic Development Division and the Golden LEAF Foundation.

The CNA program prepares individuals to work under the supervision of licensed nursing professionals in performing nursing care and services to patients in a hospital, nursing facility or home care agency.

"Let's celebrate," exclaimed HCC Workforce and Economic Development Division Acting Dean Tamba O. Thompson. "We celebrate you for your accomplishments and for reaching this milestone…Your best is yet to come."

Our Community Hospital CEO Tom Majure also encouraged the graduates, “Bring excitement into your job... That will serve you very well.”

"You’ve chosen a worthy field of serving others," continued Majure. "This is a rewarding job where you will improve the quality of life for those around you."

Regeneration Development Group Inc. Job Developer Angela Davis added, "This is only the beginning... Do the best you can in whatever you do… Everything is possible, just put forth the effort and the time."
