HCC seeks Distinguished Alumni Award Nominations
WELDON, N.C. – Nominations are now being taken for HCC’s Distinguished Alumni Award 2014. The nomination deadline is set for Friday, Aug. 8 at 5 p.m. Nominations can be received by mail, email or online submission.

The nomination includes completion of a form and submission of a brief essay. We are looking for alumni to represent graduating classes from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. These awards are meant to recognize regular, hard-working individuals. A nominee does not have to be “high profile” in order to be honored.

Along with some basic contact information, the nomination must include a brief essay that addresses each of the qualities listed below that are used as the selection criteria. The essay should focus on specific examples that demonstrate the nominee’s commitment and unique contributions. All HCC alumni are eligible for nomination except for current HCC employees. Individuals may be nominated by peers or family members only - individuals may not nominate themselves.

The brief essay should describe the nominee’s qualities in the following areas:
  1. Commitment and contributions to church, community and/or career
  2. Unselfish devotion to others
  3. Initiative, innovation and/or leadership in the region
