HCC officials attend Founders' Dinner to celebrate NCCCS 50th anniversary
Halifax Community College (HCC) officials and guests attended the Founders' Dinner—Eastern Region in celebration of the North Carolina Community College System’s 50th anniversary. The event was held on Sept. 18 at the Walnut Creek Country Club in Goldsboro, N.C. The dinner was part of a year-long celebration commemorating the community college’s milestone anniversary. Pictured are, from left, HCC English Instructor and Faculty Senate President Sandra Weden, HCC Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the HCC Foundation Inc. Dr. Dianne Rhoades, HCC Trustee Donna Clements and HCC President Dr. Ervin V. Griffin Sr. Also in attendance were Kim Mack, executive assistant to the president; John Smith, trustee; Dr. Elton L. Newbern Jr., former president and his wife, Ann Elliott Newbern; and, Halifax County Commissioner Marcelle O. Smith.
