Nurse Aide I classes slated for HCC
 
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College’s (HCC) Continuing Education Department will offer two Nurse Aide I classes. The first class will be held from 4-8:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday, Sept. 3 through Oct. 31 at the Weldon campus. The second class will be held from 4-8:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday, Sept. 9 through Nov. 27 also at the Weldon campus. The registration fee is $224.50 for each class not including textbook and other expenses.

Pre-registration is required. The instructor will provide more information about class requirements and expenses. Students may register in the Continuing Education Building (400).

Admission requirements for the Nurse Aide I program include:
  1. Complete a current registration form for Nurse Aide I – available in the Continuing Education Office Bldg. 400.
  2. Take the TABE Reading Placement Test – student must score a 9th grade level or higher. A retest can be taken. Test results are good for one year. If you have taken the test within the past year, you do NOT have to retake. Testing will be held in the 500 Building in the Learning Lab, Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  3. Transcripts are not needed. High school diploma or GED is not required.
  4. Must present current picture ID and Social Security Card at time of registration. Names on each must match exactly.
  5. Student will be required to take the Human Resources Development class, "Employability Skills," which is a 32-hour class prior to enrolling in the NA class. Check with the Continuing Education office for times and days.
