HCC School of Vocational and Industrial Technology hosts first Advanced Manufacturing event
 
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College's (HCC) School of Vocational and Industrial Technology hosted the first-ever HCC Advanced Manufacturing Open House on April 8 in The Centre. The event is part of North Carolina Manufacturing Awareness Week, April 8-12, which is an effort by the state's community colleges and other organizations working together to raise awareness about manufacturing in North Carolina and to create interest in the career possibilities within this sector.

Advanced manufacturing is modern, sophisticated and uses cutting edge technology to create products used in fields such as aviation, construction, welding, automotive and industrial technologies. During the event, attendees learned about the pathways to careers, met with business and industry representatives and participated in hands-on demonstrations of advanced manufacturing equipment.
