HCC Delegation attends National Legislative Summit in 2013
 
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) trustees and administration attended the Association of Community College Trustees 2013 Community College National Legislative Summit in Washington, D.C. on Feb. 11-14. This annual trip gives trustees the chance to lobby for community college issues.

In attendance were HCC President Dr. Ervin V. Griffin Sr. along with HCC Board of Trustees Chair Frank V. Avent III, Vice Chair Bernella DeLaMora and board members Dr. Stanley Edwards, Michael Felt and Mary Mebane.

While at the summit, the HCC delegation had the opportunity to hear the latest information on federal legislative priorities and sequestration. They had a chance to meet with United States Congressman G.K. Butterfield of the 1st District of North Carolina. The group also met with senators Richard Burr and Kay Hagan as part of the North Carolina delegation.
