Halifax Community College hosted Juniors Learning About Careers Day, March 14 for area high school juniors. Students from Southeast Halifax High School, Northwest Halifax High School, Halifax Academy, Weldon High School, Roanoke Rapids High School, KIPP Pride High School, and Halifax County School of Ecology had the opportunity to explore the campus and hear from instructors, students and alumni in different academic areas about careers. Students started their visit with a general information session and were divided into groups according to interests.

“What you're going to do today is think about what you're going to do for the rest of your life and how you're going to get there,” said Dr. Joy Cooley, HCC vice president of instruction during a welcome address. “You've got a good opportunity today to actually spend some time thinking about it… You can start right here at Halifax Community College and end up anywhere you want to go.”
