HCC Nursing Faculty Member to present at conference
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) Nursing Instructor Tammy Pleasant will present a session during the 2013 Elsevier Faculty Development Conference in Las Vegas. The conference will take place Jan. 2-5. Pleasant will present the preconference session, “Out With the Old and In With the New: Effectively Implementing a Concept-Based Curriculum” on Jan. 2 along with Dr. Nelda Godfrey of the University of Kansas School of Nursing. Pleasant holds BSN and MSN degrees from East Carolina University and an AAS and diploma from HCC. She is also a Certified Nurse Educator through the National League for Nurses.

Pleasant will present the topics:
  • Concept- vs. Content-Teaching: What’s the Difference?
  • Strategies for Implementing a Concept-Based Curriculum
  • Lessons Learned in Associate Degree and Baccalaureate Pre-Licensure Programs
