HCC hosts annual Founders Day event
Halifax Community College (HCC) held its eighth annual Founders Day program on Sept. 9 in The Centre. This year’s Founders Day honored six retired faculty and staff members with emeritus status as well as four recipients of the 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award.

Pilot Club of Roanoke Valley presents donation to HCC
The Pilot Club of Roanoke Valley Inc. recently presented Halifax Community College (HCC) Foundation Inc. with a donation. The $1,000 gift was given in honor of Shirley Allen and will benefit the Pilot Club of Roanoke Valley Scholarship.

Special honors presented at HCC trustee meeting
Special honors were presented at the June 24 Halifax Community College (HCC) Board of Trustees meeting. HCC Director of Resource Development John Foriest, HCC Business & Industry/Customized Training Coordinator Larry Crisafulli, and HCC Director of Title III and PRIDE Male Leadership Program Dan Lovett were recognized for their work in acquiring a $450,000 grant from the Golden LEAF Foundation.
