United States Navy U.S. Fleet Forces Showband performed at The Centre
WELDON, N.C. – The United States Navy U.S. Fleet Forces Showband Holiday Concert was held on Dec. 18 at The Centre at Halifax Community College. There were 800 tickets given out prior to the performance with an estimated 500 people in attendance.

The event was part of the Lyceum Series of Special Events. It was free and open to the public. Patrons could get tickets by visiting The Centre’s Box Office or The Daily Herald office, calling The Centre Box Office or sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to The Centre.

The U.S. Fleet Forces Band is the musical representative for the Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, and is the largest of the Navy’s 11 Fleet Bands. This unit provides musical support for ships, military bases, foreign dignitaries, and many community relations events. The band, under the direction of Lieutenant C.S. White, is fortunate to be staffed by some of the Navy’s finest and most talented musicians.
