The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Healthcare Informatics (A25590 HI) prepares students for employment as specialists in installation, data management, data archiving/retrieval, system design and support, and computer training for medical information systems. It is a concentration under the Information Technology program.
The program concentration integrates education from health information, computer science, and information technology. Course work in the Healthcare Informatics concentration focuses on the study of informatics, systems analysis, networking / security technologies, data warehousing, data management, and healthcare computer infrastructure support. technologies, data warehousing, data management, and healthcare computer infrastructure support.
Upon completion of the program, graduates should qualify for employment as database/data warehouse analysts, technical support professionals, informatics technology professionals, systems analysts, networking and security technicians, and computer maintenance professionals in the healthcare field.
