The Department of Institutional Research & Effectiveness supports the College through the ongoing collection, analysis, and dissemination of timely data concerning personnel, facilities, equipment, programs, services, and fiscal resources. This information serves as the foundation for databases, both internal and external studies, and statistical analyses, all of which contribute to planning, evaluation, and management processes. Moreover, the Department of Institutional & Effectiveness plays a pivotal role in guiding the College in its continuous planning efforts.

Strategic Plan 2022-2027

The five-year strategic planning process enables Halifax Community College to assess its current mission, analyze data and feedback, and formulate specific strategies. These strategies aim to ensure that the College consistently delivers essential programs, resources, and supportive services to Halifax County and its surrounding areas.

The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a College-developed document. It identifies key issues from institutional assessment, focuses on learning outcomes and institutional mission alignment, demonstrates institutional capability for QEP initiation, implementation, and completion, involves broad-based institutional constituency participation, and outlines goals and assessment plans.

Halifax Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to confer associate degrees. Additionally, Halifax Community College may provide certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. The Performance Measures for Student Success Report is the North Carolina Community College System’s major accountability document. This annual performance report is based on data compiled during the previous year and serves to inform colleges and the public about the performance of our 58 community colleges.
