Ways to Give

Give the Gift of Education

The HCC Foundation may receive gifts of cash, securities, deferred gifts, property, equipment, in-kind gifts, and materials. These gifts are used to provide funds for scholarships, educational activities, and educational materials that can assist the students and/or enhance the services of Halifax Community Community College.

An investment in the HCC Foundation is an investment in our students and our community. There are numerous and convenient ways to contribute to the Foundation.

Cash, Check, Non-Monetary, Scholarship, or Stock Gifts

Here is sample language for a bequest to the Foundation:

Sample #1
I give and bequeath to the Halifax Community College Foundation Inc. the sum of ______ dollars ($__) (or percentage of estate) for the use and benefit of Halifax Community College, in the manner and for the purposes determined by the discretion of the HCC Foundation Board.

Sample #2

This scholarship will be awarded annually to full- and/or part-time HCC students. Please show this language to your attorney, who can adapt it to best suit your needs.

Foundation Scholarships

Halifax Community College (HCC) scholarships are available to assist students who have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence and completion of a program at HCC. Halifax Community College uses a system that automatically matches applicants to scholarship opportunities they are qualified to receive. Therefore, only one application per student needs to be submitted for all of the scholarships available.

Applicants should fill out the application completely and write a letter/statement about “Why I need a Scholarship”. Students should put thought and effort into the letter/statement as the letter/statement is a significant piece of the scoring for scholarships.

IMPORTANT The scholarship deadline for the 2024-2025 academic year is May 31, 2024 by 5:00 p.m NOTE: Early College and CCP students are ineligible and unable to be considered.

Please read this information carefully before submitting your application:

For your tax purposes, the HCC Tax ID number is 59-1608217.
