Career Readiness Certificate (CRC)
The Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) is an assessment-based credential that give employers and career seekers a uniform measure of key workplace skills.
The CRC is a portable credential that promotes career development and skill attainment for the individual and confirms to employers that an individual possesses basic workplace skills. CRC participants are assessed in Reading for Information, Applied Mathematics and Locating Information. Based on assessment results, participants may take the nationally recognized WorkKeys Test and earn a bronze, silver or gold certificate that will demonstrate proficiency in these areas. Testing fees will be accepted at the cashier's office Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. on the day of the test. For more information, contact recruiter.
- Focuses on employment related competencies needed in any career
- Is used by employers to assess skills for employment and promotion
- Is used by job seekers to show employers that their skills are certified
- Serves as a portable credential that can be more meaningful to employers than a high school degree or a resume citing experience in a different job setting
The CRC is based upon WorkKeys, a nationally recognized system of job profiling, assessment and instructional support. Employers use this system to take the guesswork out of identifying the right applicant for a job. Individuals that earn a Career Readiness Certificate confirm to employers that they possess the work skills to complete a job.
