HCC to Roll Out Five-Year Strategic Plan
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) will reveal its five-year strategic plan to the public on Friday, Sept. 15.

Dr. Michael Elam, president of HCC, will host his first Presidential Breakfast beginning at 8 a.m., with a focus on the 2017-2022 Strategic Plan for the College. The plan addresses multiple areas for growth and development, including admissions and curriculum programming.

"The 2017 - 2022 Strategic Plan: Building Pathways to Success that we have developed represents the best thinking of our community leaders, faculty, students and citizens regarding how well Halifax Community College can best meet the needs of our service area, said Elam. "This long range plan provides a road map for the college to improve and expand its services and programs. Without it our focus would be too broad and our resources spread too far to be effective. The HCC Strategic Plan: Building Pathways to Success helps us to build on the foundation of the previous plan to accomplish the college mission with precision."

The strategic plan is the result of the efforts of the faculty, staff and Board of Trustees for HCC, a process that began in September of 2016. Through meetings, work sessions and multiple planning sessions, input from each stakeholder group was collected and evaluated for inclusion.

The event is free and open to the public, though a reservation is requested for meal planning. For more information on the event, or to reserve a seat, please contact the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Advancement at 252-536-4144, or send an email to mwallace786@halifaxcc.edu.
