HCC to Host Orientation
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) is hosting orientation on August 8 to begin its 50th academic year.

New student orientation is required for all students entering in the fall of 2017. It provides an opportunity for students to learn more about HCC, its expectations, and meet the current faculty. In addition, students will have the opportunity to meet Dr. Michael Elam, HCC’s president, and hear from him how an HCC education is truly life changing.

The department of Enrollment Management, the division responsible for orientation, takes a student-focused approach to both orientation and student services. Through their dedication, each HCC student is given multiple opportunities for growth and success.

"Our Admissions team believes in the "One Principle," where every potential student is valued and given intentional assistance with enrollment," said Dr. Barbara Bradley-Hasty, vice president of Enrollment Management and Student Services. “The benefits of an HCC education mean that students have the skills to not only make our community a better place, but this world, too.”

There are two sessions for orientation, allowing more flexibility for incoming students. The first session begins at 9 a.m. and the session begins at 5 p.m. Both sessions will be held in room 108 on the campus of HCC. For more information, or to reserve a space, please call (252)536-7220 or email the director of admissions, Chalisa Harrell, at charrell821@halifaxcc.edu.
