Children's Theater Series presents "The Frog Prince" at HCC
WELDON, N.C. – The Children's Theater Series at Halifax Community College (HCC) featured the Virginia Repertory Theatre, formally known as Theatre IV, in a performance of "The Frog Prince" on March 22 at The Centre.

The Virginia Repertory Theatre's performance was a presentation of story of a spoiled princess that drops her golden ball into a well. A noble frog retrieves it in exchange for her promise of friendship. The princess breaks her promise, and must face the music in this colorful, funny, faithful adaptation of the classic folk story first recorded by the Brothers Grimm. The story ended with advice to the children in attendance that was song as follows, "A promise is a promise, is a promise and a promise is important. Careful how you make them, careful how you break them; if you are crabby make amends. Sometime the way the story ends depends on how you treat your friends". The beautiful production of The Frog Prince showcases an amphibian ensemble created by internationally acclaimed puppet master Terry Snyder.
