To be eligible for enrollment, the student must have:** - Rising junior or senior status**AND - Minimum grade/readiness requirements: 2.8/+ unweighted high school GPA OR - Demonstrate readiness on approved assessments in English, Reading, and Math Rising juniors and seniors not meeting the minimum grade/readiness requirements above may be able participate in Career and Technical Education Pathways** without Universal General Education Transfer Component (UGETC) courses and/or **Workforce Continuing Education Pathways**. To be eligible for enrollment in this manner, recommendation of the high school principal and their rationale is required as well as recommendation of the college’s Chief Academic Officer. **Additional Information:****Students may only take courses within their selected pathway as required by program legislation. With approval of the high school principal or his/her designee and the college’s Chief Academic Officer or chief student development administrator, a student may concurrently enroll in two pathways. Courses in one program of study may not be substituted for courses in another program. A student who completes a CCP pathway while still enrolled in high school may continue to earn college credits leading to the completion of the associate degree with the approval of the high school principal and the college administrator. To remain eligible for the program, the CCP student must:** - Continue to make progress towards high school graduation**AND** - Submit an updated high school transcript each academic term**AND** - Maintain a 2.0 GPA in college coursework after completing two courses A student who falls below a 2.0 GPA after completing two college courses will be subject to the college’s policy for satisfactory academic progress (Academic Warning, Academic Probation). ## Freshman/Sophomore Eligibility **Career and Technical Education Pathway Eligibility Requirements** Eligible freshmen and sophomores may participate in a limited number of Career and Technical Education Pathways. **To be eligible for enrollment, the 9th/10th grade student must have:** - Recommendation of current school principal/administrator and their rationale for recommendation in place of GPA requirement (assessment scores should be considered)**AND** - Recommendation of the College’s Chief Academic Officer**AND** - Minimum grade/readiness requirements: C/+ in Math I **AND** 3/+ Math I EOC score **AND** 3/+ (8th grade) ELA EOG score **OR** - Demonstrate college readiness on approved assessments in English, Reading, and Math **College Transfer Pathway Eligibility Requirements** Eligible gifted freshmen and sophomores may participate in **College Transfer Pathways** (see below for limited course offerings). **To be eligible for enrollment, the gifted 9th/10th grade student must have:** - Gifted status: Local Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG) plan in English/Reading and Math **OR** - Greater than 92nd percentile on an aptitude test and on an achievement test in English, Reading, and Math (both tests must be listed in the Mental Measurements Yearbook (request referral from student’s healthcare professional) **AND** - Demonstration of college readiness on approved assessments in English, Reading, and Math **AND** **Additional Information:** Students may only take courses within their selected pathway as required by program legislation. Students are subject to the same eligibility requirements. ## Cooperative Innovative High School Programs (Early Colleges) There are three Cooperative Innovative High Schools (CIHS) located on Halifax Community College’s campus. There is one located off of our campus. A CIHS allows eligible high school students to complete an asso­ciate’s degree within five years. Eligibility requirements are established jointly by the local board of education and local board of trustees.
