Safety Program
Halifax Community College has a long history of offering specialized safety training to area businesses, industries and individuals. HCC’s Safety Program has helped area business to not only become safer and more productive but has also led to some becoming OSHA STAR certified, ISO compliant and even winning safety awards. We have multiple safety instructors that have impressive education backgrounds in the field and more than 60 years of combined safety experience. We offer the following courses:
Fork Lift (PIT): Initial and refresher courses offered through the National Safety Council including "train the trainers."
OSHA 10 & 30-Hour Outreach: Certification through the OSHA outreach program for general Industry.
CPR/First Aid: ASHI certified courses including AED, BBP, Professional, Community and Wilderness.
Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPPER): Capable of teaching hazmat awareness, operations and technician level classes.
Custom Programs: We offer a wide variety of safety courses including comprehensive refreshers, specialized equipment, safety committees and much more.
