Center for Academic Excellence (CAE)

The Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) operates as a professionally staffed academic enrichment (AE) tutoring center. The CAE is furnished with computers and a resource library equipped with educational software (CDs/DVDs) designed to serve enrolled HCC students. The CAE’s qualified staff consists of one full-time coordinator, one part-time CTE assistant/tutor, peer/professional tutors, and federal work-study students. It houses various courseware and high tech software selected by instructors to support their curriculum and to meet the needs of students. Students have access to a black and white printer, audiovisual equipment, headphones, academic enrichment resources, and study skills material. To provide an individual and unique need, the CAE incorporates the Nuance Dragon Naturally Speaking Basics – Speech recognition software. The CAE is committed to helping students stay on their “A” game.
