HCC to Host Alumni and Friends Presidential Breakfast |
|
WELDON, N.C. – On Friday, May 19, Halifax Community College (HCC) is hosting its fourth annual Alumni and Friends Presidential Breakfast. This special event will take place at 8 a.m. in The Centre@HCC.
This year, the event will serve as the launch of the HCC Alumni Association, an opportunity for alumni to join the vast network of HCC graduates. "The Alumni of HCC are leaders of our community,” said Allen Purser, executive director of the HCC Foundation. “We will use this breakfast to kick off the Alumni Association which will benefit the alumni and the College. An Alumni Association is a great way to network, enjoy fellowship and garner some benefits at the same time. The Association will be led and directed by HCC Alumni."
Participants will hear testimonials from William Rosser, Ms. Pauletta Smallwood-Broadnax, Jimall Rice, and Ms. Debra Golden about the impact HCC has had on their life. Graduates of HCC serve in all facets of the community, from nurses and emergency personnel, to teachers and community leaders.
"The Alumni and Friends Presidential breakfast is a great opportunity to meet old friends and hear success stories about alumni. It is also a breakfast to celebrate Halifax Community College and all it has done and continues to do for the community,” said Columbus Jeffers, a member of the HCC Class of ’72. “This year I am really excited as we will begin work on activities and benefits for the Alumni Association for Halifax Community College."
Dr. Michael Elam, president of HCC, will also address those gathered, reminding them of their significance to the College and the impact they each can have on the future of the institution. This year’s event is sponsored by Atlantic Coast Pipeline, WalMart, First Citizens Wealth Management, Dixon Realty and Lloyds Decorating Service.
