HCC held Aspen Strategies Team college-wide meeting
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College was one of eight colleges in the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) to participate in the Aspen Institute Roadmap to Excellence project, fall 2015. The project provided HCC with a comprehensive assessment review in the areas of learning, completion/transfer, labor market, and equitable outcomes and feedback for the next steps in advancing models of excellence and improving student success.

While it was determined that "student success" is core to the culture at HCC, recommendations were made to advance student success in areas that would have the greatest potential to improve student outcomes. A college-wide Aspen Strategies Team has been commissioned to begin the process of working towards advancing student success. Dr. Griffin has appointed Mrs. Sherida Gholston, Director of Student Support Services as the project coordinator and Dr. Adriane Leche, Dean of Institutional Effectiveness, Planning and Assessment to serve as a consultant. On April 27th the Aspen Strategies Team held their first college-wide meeting.
