Women of Excellence (WOE) is a mentoring program that was conceived by Barbara Bradley-Hasty, Dean of Student Services, and developed and implemented by Carolyn L. Stuart, Director of Counseling-Student Services. The program began in 2008 and is designed specifically for the female student population at Halifax Community College. WOE hold true to the vision and mission of Halifax Community College through its ongoing efforts to demonstrate an appreciation of and respect for the diversity not only reflected in Halifax Community College's students and employees, but throughout the community as well. Additionally, WOE serves as a catalyst for educational and cultural development in the community.
The WOE is one who embraces, exhibits, shares, and puts into action the organization's Vision, Mission, Values, and Diversity statements.
