HCC Recruiting for Nursing Program
WELDON, N.C. – The Halifax Community College (HCC) School of Nursing is accepting applications for the Fall 2019 cohort. Students are being recruited for both the Practical Nursing (PN) and the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) programs.

Students who obtain a PN degree can immediately begin work in a hospital or other medical care facility. Some of the duties include taking a patientís vital signs, assisting doctors and nurses with patient care, assisting with tests and procedures, and feeding infants.

Students who obtain an ADN degree are qualified to take the NCLEX-RN examination. Successful passing of the exam certifies the student as a registered nurse (RN). An RN can work in any healthcare office, specializing in such areas as emergency room, neo-natal, operating room, and trauma nursing.

Applications, and all supporting documents, are due to the HCC admissions department no later than January 25. Each student applying must attend an HCC School of Nursing information session. Each session begins promptly at 5:00 p.m. in Room 208 of the 200 building. The next session is scheduled for Jan. 17.
