On August 24, 2017 the SBC will host a seminar on "How to Improve your Credit Score." This seminar will be held in Room 412 of the 400 Building at HCC from 1-3 p.m.

On August 29, the SBC will host a seminar on "How to Write a Business Plan." Whether you are a new business owner or a company that has been in business for several years, you need to plan. This seminar will cover the basics you need to pull together your business plan, from the questions to ask to developing sales forecasts and break-even analysis. This seminar will be held in Room 412 of the 400 Building at HCC from 6-9 p.m.

On August 30, the SBC will host a "Crowdfunding: A New Financing Option for Small Business Owners" seminar. Legislation passed by the N.C. General Assembly in July 2016 allows startups in North Carolina to raise up to $2 million from average investors using their own website or a registered funding portal. A further simplified option, called the Local Public Offering (LPO), permits raising up to $250,000 without use of a website. These options include various safeguards for investors, while expanding fundraising avenues for startups. A representative of the N.C. Department of the Secretary of State will cover recent developments in investment crowdfunding. This seminar will be held in Room 412 of the 400 building at HCC from 1-3 p.m.

All seminars are free of charge. However, we ask participants to pre-register at www.ncsbc.net. For more information please contact HCC SBC Director, Jerry Edmonds at jedmonds080@halifaxcc.edu or at 252-536-7274.
