HCC's BLET Academy graduates officer class
 
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) cadets graduated in a ceremony on December 19. Each student successfully completed 634 hours of BLET classes to become police officers. Each student was sponsored by a local department, furthering their commitment to their education.

Graduates included:
  • Jeffery Barriger, sponsored by the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.
  • Patrick O'Neal Batts, sponsored by the Gates County Sheriff's Office
  • Michael Bishop, sponsored by the Halifax County Sheriff's Office
  • Johnathan Boyer, sponsored by the Gaston Police Dept.
  • Tyler Shane Burden, sponsored by the Ahoskie Police Dept.
  • Brandon Council, sponsored by the Halifax County Sheriff's Office
  • Joseph DeSare, sponsored by the Roanoke Rapids Police Dept.
  • Clay Eure, sponsored by the Ahoskie Police Dept.
  • Stephen Lowe, sponsored by the Gaston Police Department
  • Ronnie Palmer, sponsored by the Hertford County Police Dept.
