HCC CPR Instructors Complete New Instructor Upgrade

WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid instructors have recently completed their mandated five year training updates and are ready to begin training others on the new standards. Every five years the accreditation for improved CPR and first aid techniques led by the American heart Association (AHA ) and attended by others such as American Safety and Health Institute, American Red Cross, Green Cross, and others look at new research, trends and teaching outcomes to put out revised guidelines for CPR and first aid. These updates are passed on to the instructors in a formal education process to be passed onto the students.

The new standards which are called 2015, but not mandatory to be taught until January 2017, have several new additions or changes for the students to improve the outcome of the basic life saving techniques.

To learn more about life saving techniques that you could provide to those in need contact HCC at 252-536-7212 to find a class that fits your schedule. HCC will be doing non-certified bystander CPR education processes at local events; next event is the Safe Kids Coalition Function on April 9, 2016. Watch our schedule for more opportunities to learn how to save a life.
