HCC hosts "Small Business Filings & Responsibilities"

WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) Small Business Center, in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Secretary of State, hosted "Small Business Filings & Responsibilities." The seminar is designed to provide prospective and established businesses a better understanding of business formation and corporation filings and responsibilities. Additional topics included trademark and security regulations.

During the presentation, Investor & Business Outreach Specialist Mr. Leo John with the N.C. Department of Secretary of State focused on starting and financing a business venture in North Carolina. Additionally, the seminar provided tips to assist the business owner with protection against investment fraud and liability. The 1 p.m. seminar was requested as continuation to a similar seminar presented during the Nov. 19, 2015 HCC Small Business Resource and Appreciation Day.
