HCC becomes member of The Benefit Bank of NC
 
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) is now an official member of The Benefit Bank of North Carolina. The HCC Benefit Bank is an online portal that helps low and moderate-income enrolled students and their families identify potential educational and federal support resources. The effort has already assisted low-income families in North Carolina claim an estimated $35 million in work supports since April 2010.

Through this online service, individuals can access the following services:
  • Food and Nutrition Services (Food Stamps)
  • Medical Benefits (adults and children)
  • Federal and State Tax Filing (Up to three years back taxes)
  • FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
  • Veterans’ Education and Training Benefits
  • Work First Family Assistance
  • Energy Assistance –Crisis Assistance
  • Voter Registration
