HCC wins second time in fundraising effort for American Red Cross Hero Collegiate Challenge Campaign
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) recently joined in the 2012 American Red Cross Hero Collegiate Challenge Campaign, which is a grassroots fundraising effort. Monies raised stay in designated counties. For the HCC campus, this means that donations will benefit Halifax and Northampton counties.

The challenge began in the spring when the HCC community accepted the challenge to compete against five other colleges in the region to raise money for the Red Cross. The other colleges are Nash Community College, Edgecombe Community College, Wilson Community College, N.C. Wesleyan College and Barton College. The campaign is an ongoing fundraising project so donations will be accepted year round.

This was the second consecutive year that HCC won the challenge and earned the right to display the American Red Cross Hero College Trophy. In 2010, HCC finished second in the competition.
