RVEC students learn dangers of driving while impaired and texting while driving
Roanoke Valley Early College (RVEC) 10th graders had the chance to learn the dangers of driving while under the influence as well as texting while driving on May 17 on the Halifax Community College campus. Officers from the Weldon Police Department rode with each student through a driving course. Students drove on one course while wearing special eye gear to experience driving while under the influence. They then drove on a second course with different eye gear to experience driving while texting.
