HCC Scotland Neck Off-Campus Center
receives new technology
Halifax Community College Scotland Neck Off-Campus Center
staff and students are now enjoying new technology.
Recently, HCC replaced the older computers that were in use
with 16 new computers, a projector and printer. The new
computers feature Internet access and Microsoft 2010
software. Internet access was paid for by a private donor.
Microsoft Office Class Instructor Florine Harris said, “This
equipment provides a chance for students to learn more. With
the Internet connection, we will be able to review things we
have not been able to before.” Harris currently has a full
class. “Everyone who was in the last class came back for
this class,” she explained.
“This new equipment also allows students to stay current and
up-to-date,” added HCC Computer Skills Specialist Ellen
Grant. A future partnership is already
the works at the center. HCC’s Career Readiness Certificate
(CRC) Program will work with
Regeneration Development Group
conduct CRC testing online.
