Calling all HCC Alumni!

The Halifax Community College (HCC) Office of Institutional Advancement is seeking nominations for the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) 2015 Outstanding Alumni Awards. To be considered, alumni must meet the following criteria:

  1. Attended HCC for at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours.
  2. Has notable achievements in career field.
  3. Has specific philanthropic or public service activity that supports the community and/or college.
  4. Has achieved recognition at a national level.
  5. Provides inspirational impact.

Your nomination should include basic information about the nominee (name, address, phone number, email address) and detail his/her years at the College. List his/her accomplishments and contributions. Also, describe specific successes in his/her career and/or service, current professional activities and philanthropic contributions (both monetary and service). Nominations are due to the Office of Institutional Advancement no later than Aug. 8.

The AACC Outstanding Alumni Awards, a tradition since 1982, honors individuals who attended community colleges and are making outstanding contributions in their chosen fields of endeavor at national or international levels. Their philanthropic activity—giving back to the community and/or college—is of particular interest.
