North Carolina Central University Choir performs holiday favorites at concert
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) presented the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Choir at The Centre for an evening performance on Wednesday, Dec. 16. The concert titled "A Carol of Joy" was a free concert featuring a family-friendly program of holiday music. More than 600 people attended the concert.

"A Carol of Joy" under the direction of Professor Roberta A. Laws, NCCU University Choir Director, was a beautiful blend of holiday music through many music genres, textures and forms. Through a wonderful collaboration of the theatre and dance departments of NCCU choruses from Handel’s Messiah and Madame Butterfly, spirituals, jazz, contemporary song and a virtuoso duet on piano and cello were presented.
