Second Annual HCC Small Business Resource And Appreciation Day
 
WELDON, N.C. – The Second Annual Halifax Community College (HCC) Small Business Resource and Appreciation Day was recently hosted by the Halifax Community College, Small Business Center. Major sponsors for the event included The Upper Coastal Plains Business Development Center, UNC Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise and The American Express Small Business Saturday Campaign.

The HCC Small Business Resource and Appreciation Day was supported by 25 small business resource organizations such as lending institutions, accounting organizations, sales, and marketing focused organizations. More than one-hundred organizations and small business personnel participated in the informational filled day of activities.

Individual seminars were presented by Evelyn J. Williamson, Stakeholder Liaison with the Internal Revenue Service(IRS) and Leo John, representative from the office of The North Carolina Secretary of State.

The keynote address was delivered by Tammy Crowley-Deloatch, owner of New Day Fitness of Roanoke Rapids, NC. Mrs. Crowley-Deloatch delivered a powerful address with emphasis on the importance of community service in synergy with business success.

Small Business Center Director, Jerry Edmonds was delighted with the comments from vendors and small business owners regarding the face-to-face networking that the Small Business Resource and Appreciation Day provided.
