Haynes named HCC's Dean of Workforce & Economic Development
WELDON, N.C. – Dr. Warren E. Haynes has been named the dean of workforce and economic development at Halifax Community College (HCC). He will begin his post on Jan. 12.

Most recently, Haynes served as the interim department chair and assistant professor in the School of Public Administration, Social Work and Criminal Justice at Kentucky State University in Frankfort, Kentucky. He has experience at two-year and four-year institutions, including faculty and administrative roles.

Prior to his current position, Haynes was a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Public Policy and Administration at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Haynes has also held various state and local government, higher education administration and nonprofit management positions.

Haynes earned a doctorate in public administration from the College of Public Affairs at the University of Baltimore, a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from the School of Public Affairs at the City University of New York-Baruch College, and a Master of City and Regional Planning from the School of Architecture and Planning and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, both from Morgan State University.
