Fall 2014 Presidential Student Forums held at HCC
 
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) hosted two Presidential Student Forums for the fall 2014 semester on Sept. 16 at noon and 6 p.m. Pizza was served and all students were encouraged to attend.

During the sessions, students had the opportunity to share ideas and to ask questions of administrators, faculty and staff. Questions were raised and information was shared on the following topics and issues:
  • Introductions of administrative staff—points of contact
  • Financial aid
  • Outreach opportunities
  • Developmental math enrollment
  • Wellness Center operation and hours
  • Transportation
  • Pell grant checks
  • Student emergencies
  • Withdrawal from college
  • Collaboration with advisors and staff to resolve issues
  • Sexual harassment policy
HCC Dean of Student Services & Enrollment Management Dr. Barbara Bradley Hasty commented on the sexual harassment policy. "We are obligated to follow up on any incident that is reported," she said. "No means no even if you don’t like it."
