Founders Day slated for Sept. 9 at HCC
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) will hold its eighth annual Founders Day Celebration at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 9 in The Centre. The event is free and open to the public and celebrates HCC's 47th anniversary.

Four honorees for the 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award will be recognized including:
  • James L. Bond, Captain Aviation, ARNGUS and GS Employee (Technician), Logistics Management Officer, Army Aviation Support Facility #1, Morrisville, NC
  • Mark Macon, Chief of Police, Town of Weldon
  • Dr. Linda Mason, Assistant Superintendent, Warren County Schools
  • Dr. Monica Smith-Woofter, Superintendent, Northampton County Schools
Faculty and staff emeritus award honorees will also be recognized. Pre-registration is requested to attend. RSVP attendance to Bonnie Benthall at 252-536-7234 or Dr. Dianne Rhoades at 252-536-7239 no later than Aug. 29.
