HCC shares PRIDE Outcomes with NCCCS State Board
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) officials shared PReparing men for Intellectual, acaDemic & Educational success (PRIDE) of Halifax Male Mentoring Program outcomes during a North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) State Board of Community Colleges meeting in Raleigh on March 20.

PRIDE Director Daniel J. Lovett and HCC President Dr. Ervin V. Griffin Sr. shared programmatic and performance outcomes about the HCC PRIDE program during the presentation, “Minority Male Mentoring in the North Carolina Community College System.” The presentation was made during the issues luncheon.

Accomplishments for the HCC PRIDE program have included transferring 37 men to four-year colleges with 13 already graduating from a four-year institution. An additional 12 men are scheduled to graduate within the next year. The program has also shown a 266 percent minority male graduation rate increase between 2008 (before PRIDE) and 2013 (since PRIDE).
